SABO SOIL CEMENT METHOD
Sabo Soil Cement Method (SB WALL CONSTRUCTION METHOD)
This structure uses gravel at the site as soil cement for the dam body, while upstream and downstream sides are each protected by concrete blocks and cold formed sheet piles. Because of the high workability at the site, construction time can be shortened compared to concrete dams.
Excavated sediments generated from construction of the dam body are used as internal material for
the dam body. Offers superior economy because there is no need to dispose waste soil
Use of internal materials similar to those used in rock-fill dam construction makes construction easier
[Cost comparison with concrete dam (approximate cost)] [Percent reduction in construction time] 62% (dam height: 8m) to 60% (dam height: 14m) |
